About Me
My life as a scout began as a Bobcat in Palisade, CO. I had to promise my Mom that I would stay in scouts for at least 3 years. About 10 years later, I received my Eagle from Troop 7 in Boulder City. When my oldest son began his scouting life as a Tiger in Aztec, NM, I was his leader. Then I served as the Assistant Cubmaster for 2 years, until I accepted the position of Scoutmaster for Troop 325. In 2004, we returned to Boulder City where both of my boys joined Troop 7, as did I. I have served as the Scoutmaster for Troop 7 since the spring of 2005. Scouting has given me incredible experiences including 2 summer camps at Catalina as a boy, and 1 as a leader, 1 Philmont trek as a boy and 1 as a leader, numerous campouts, service projects, and activities. The greatest thing has been working with all of the boys and seeing the many Eagles Troop 7 has produced. My own boys keep me young, busy, off the streets and out of the bars (except the Elks Lodge every Tuesday night.) My term as Scoutmaster will end with the 60th Anniversary celebration in December and the Eagle Court for Zachary and Colton. However, scouting will always be a part of my life. Thank you BSA for showing me I can not only survive, but be successful by DMBTDMD to God, my Country, and my family. |
